I guess it was more serious for those that had to come home that weekend. There was no way off of Hatteras. On the North end the road was gone and the south end Ferries weren't running either because of the conditions. I talked to Joe still making his way home on Monday. He told me Upwind Mike went for a kayak paddle on the front lawn. At Island Creek.
